Arthritis/ Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis, specifically affecting the knee, is a degenerative condition where the cartilage covering the bones in the knee joint breaks down. This deterioration of cartilage leads to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility in the knee. While more common in older adults, osteoarthritis can also be caused by factors such as injury, obesity, family history, or other causes.

ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) tear

An ACL tear, also known as an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear, is a prevalent knee injury, especially among athletes who participate in sports involving sudden stops, pivots, and directional changes. The ACL is a significant ligament responsible for stabilizing the knee joint, and when it tears, it can lead to instability and challenges in bearing weight on the injured leg.

Meniscus Tear

A common knee injury known as a meniscus tear occurs when the cartilage pads, called menisci, between the femur and tibia in the knee joint get damaged. These C-shaped structures act as shock absorbers and contribute to the stability of the knee during movement. Meniscus tears can be caused by sudden twisting or rotating movements of the knee, or they may develop gradually due to age-related wear and tear in older individuals.

Patella instability

Patella instability, also known as a dislocating kneecap, is a condition where the patella (kneecap) moves out of its normal position in the groove at the end of the femur (thigh bone). This displacement can be either partial (subluxation) or complete (dislocation). Patella instability frequently happens during physical activities that involve sudden changes in direction or forceful impact on the knee.
